Programs

North West Edmonton Seniors provides an array of social programs to over 5 hundred seniors 55+ yearly. You might find card games like bridge, cribbage, euchre, military whist, and whist, bingo and two clubs; the Calder Cuties (the choir) and the Drama Club.  *User fee applies – Members $1.00 per visit and Non-Members $5.00 per visit.

Our music program encourages seniors to be active. The weekly Jam Session inspires musicians to play their instruments with a group while other dance. *User fee applies – Members $2.00 per visit and Non-Members $5.00 per visit.

Sports for seniors are always popular. Seniors are invited to participate in summer and other year around sports, including bocce, carpet bowling, floor curling, shuffleboard, pool, and sometimes disc golf or horseshoes. *User fee applies – Members $1.00 per visit and Non-Members $5.00 per visit.

Fitness Classes consist of Fit For Your Life -  a combination of aerobic activity and strength training, Fun And Fitness - includes strength, resistance, and balance exercises, Yoga – that focuses on gentle stretches and poses as well as breathing and relaxation techniques that help alleviate pain  and increase range motion. Class fee applies.


Craft programs are designed for creative seniors who enjoy knitting, crocheting  and other sewing projects. The Rag Bag Crafters quilt and sew and the Wool Crafters knit and crochet. Both groups assist Calder Seniors with fundraising. The items are made with donated materials and sold to the public. Money raised from these items is used to off set the costs of the general operations at the centre.

North West Edmonton Seniors celebrates Birthday’s on the first Friday of each month. This is free to the member who has a Birthday of the month. The cost for members is $1.00 and $5.00 for non-members. Entertainment, coffee and Birthday Cake is included.
